Country witnessed political decline in past 5 years BJP rule: Kumari Shelja

Former Union Minister Kumari Shelja Rajya Sabha member Congress contestant for Ambala Lok Sabha reserved constituency started her poll campaign at Ambala and warmly welcomed by large number of Congress workers at village Mohra on National Highway No. 1 on Monday and had a Road Show up to her Ambala Cantt resident in a procession where she addressed a press conference. She is contesting present poll battle against BJP candidate Rattan Lal Kataria sitting MP Ambala Lok Sabha constituency. Shelja defeated Kataria in 2004 Lok Sabha polls with a margin of 234935 votes and in 2009 Lok Sabha polls with a margin of 14570 votes, but lost to Kataria in 2014 Lok Sabha polls defeating Congress candidate Raj Kumar Valmiki with a record margin of 340074 votes. According to information, Rattan Lal Kataria served Ambala Lok Sabha constituency in two tenures having victory over rival contestants in the year 1999 and 2014. Shelja also won 10th and 11th LS polls from Sirsa constituency in past years.
While addressing media persons, Shelja strongly condemned BJP responsible for political downfall in the country in which leaders of political parties in the country has started making false, baseless and vulgar remarks on each other during poll promotions blaming BJP making false assurances to attract voters and failed to bring back country’s black money accumulating in foreign banks, provide jobs to un employed youths, credit each bank accounts with amount worth Rs 15 lakh each as assured to people prior to polls in 2014. She said that during past five years BJP rules an atmosphere of fear have gripped people in the country. She said that Congress manifesto declared in 2014 polls proved a bundle of lies, even 33% reservation in jobs approved by Congress in Rajya Sabha was not implemented in past five years BJP rule. Shelja said that manifesto declared by Congress for 2019 Lok Sabha polls is based upon ‘Man Ki Baat’ by the people not ‘Man Ki Baat’ by Congress Chairman Rahul Gandhi. She said that as a result of faulty GST, trade and industry have witnessed drastic fall in the country in past years, Congress after coming to power assures to improve complicated structure of GST as single tax to benefit people in industry and trade. Shelja said that in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Congress came to power in the country on the basis of false assurances to people in the country and on-going Modi Wave but people now feel cheated by their false assurances are much disappointed but the wave have now passed.
