NCRB Report: Human Trafficking on fast rise in Haryana

According to National Crime Report Bureau, Human trafficking in Haryana state is fast rising in past few years. According to information, 3410 children in past two years including 1782 females were found missing in the state and police was able to trace out 1217 females of age group 12 to 18 years and failed to find any clue about 565 missing female children.in spite of all efforts.. Information reveals that abducted children were forced to push in flesh trade in case of females, bonded labour in case of males and begging by a few rackets actively functioning in the state at Ambala, Faridabad and Grugram. Two youths arrested by the police recently along with three kidnapped minor children during police remand disclosed that abducted female children are sold-purchased at the rate ranging between Rs 5 to 25 thousand each to indulged in flesh trade, for bonded labour, begging profession or marriage mostly exported to Mumbai and Kolkata having large number of buyers. The question was also raised in Haryana Vidhan Sabha when state police assured quick action but positive results could not be obtained since most of the accuse involved in this business were found sheltered by influential people or involved in corrupt practices.
Information reveals, human trafficking has witnessed drastic increase in past 10 years in Haryana state and there is goof demand of abducted children at Karnal, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Jind, Rewari, Mewat and Hisar districts in the state where rackets are active and supplying them in Rajasthan. Looking at the police record in the state, it was detected that during the year 2018 as many as 66 human trafficking cases were registered in the state, which included 6 cases registered in the month January, 9 cases registered in February, 8 cases registered in March, 2 cases registered in April, one case registered in May, 18 cases registered in June, 8 cases registered in July, 5 cases each registered in August and September, 3 cases registered in October, one case registered in the month November. Similarly, Haryana police registered 4 human trafficking cases in the month January 2019 and the number rose to 18 cases in the month February 2019. A information reveals that females hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar and Chhattisgarh states are among victims on the hit list of abductors due to poverty in these states. There are several placement agencies functioning in the country in search of minors or adults in search of jobs including domestic servants.
