The sub-post office in Sector 40, located in a CHB house was closed down on July 19, 2006 due to a tussle between Postal Department and CHB.
On January 4, 2007, when the Administrator, UT, inaugurated eSampark Centre in Sector 40, he categorically that the post office �being a minor issue� shall be opened very shortly. In this context, I met the Administrator on October 6, 2008 during his public hearing meeting to apprise him of the commitment he had made before the public. He immediately took up the issue and directed the Chairman, CHB to do the needful. The Chairman did nothing except to write a letter to the postal authority with a copy to me. I again met the Administrator when he directed Sanjay Kumar, Finance Secretary, who was kind enough to make commitment to re-open the post office in Sector 40 shortly.
