1600 patients registered for investigation in 20 days at Atal Cancer Care Centre: Anil Vij

Ambala :  Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij addressing media persons here said that newly opened  Cancer Care Centre in the Civil Hospital at Ambala Cantonment in Haryana is the first hospital to conduct endoscopy, ERCP, colonoscopy and work is being done to make the biopsy report available within 48 hours. He visited hospital for inspection and inquire about the treatment being given to patients related to cancer in his dream project inaugurated about three weeks ago.

During inspection, Vij took information about the endoscopy machine installed in the hospital by a team of doctors.  Civil Surgeon Dr. Kuldeep Singh apprised the health minister for instalation of this machine which will be demoed soon bring life to large number of patients suffering from cancer.  During inspection,  Vij inspected O.T. room, linear accelerator, endoscopy room, mould room and other related sections seeking information as regard treatment being given to cancer patients visiting from distant places in the state. Dr. Kuldeep Singh told health minister that 27 patient visited hospital has availed therapy through Linear Accelerator Technique and over 1600 patients have been registered for treatment so far including few arrived from Lucknow.

During the inspection, the health minister also inquired from the doctors about the cancer treatment to visiting patients. Doctors apprised Vij about the procedures related to all treatments being made under a roof which including preparing treatment card, registering od patients, all preliminary medical check up related to the disease. Dr Kuldeep Singh Civil Surgeon told health minister that patients from Lucknow PGI and other states are getting their treatment at Atal Cancer Care Centre. He disclosed that 80 to 100 patients suspected suffering from Cancer are visiting OPD at the hospital every day and major operations of 6 patients suffering from cancer will be done next week and 21 patients have already been treated on Linear Slater so far, besides the first patient treated by the method of  brachy therapy.
