1831 wanted criminals arrested in 11 months in Haryana

Large number of criminals are reported absconding after the crime or after released from jail on parole on the orders of court but fail to return in Haryana state, Home Minister Anil Vij expressing deep concern over increasing crimes in few districts in the state issued show cause notices to district police heads about increasing criminal activities in their area and measures to be taken by them to control criminal activities and arrest of absconding accused as well large number of bale jumpers released from jails on courts order. Vij also expressed deep concern over police of those districts where the performance was not up to mark.

According to state police date, with effect from January 1, 2021 to November 30, 2021 police in several districts arrested 1831 most wanted criminals in Haryana which include 918 proclaimed offenders absconding after the crime and 913 bale jumpers released from jail on court’s order but failed to return to jail after completion of allowed period. Information reveals, Faridabad district in the state has been reported leading with the arrest of 33 wanted criminals, followed by Ambala district in which 27 wanted criminals were arrested by the police.

As regard arrest of wanted criminals in other districts in the state in 11 months from January till December 2021 include 23 wanted criminals arrested in Hisar district, 20 criminals in Karnal district, 19 criminals in Gurugram district, 17 criminals in Sonepat district, 16 criminals in Rewari district, 12 criminals in Jhajjer district, 9 criminals each in Kurukshetra and Rohtak districts, 8 criminals each in Palwal and Nuh districts, 7 criminals each in Kaithal, Sirsa and Narnaul districts, 5 criminals in Jind, 3 criminals each in Bhiwani, Hansi and Fatehabad districts, one criminal in Dadri district, 37 wanted criminals were arrested by SCB, 6 criminals arrested by STF and 6 criminals arrested by GRP.

In case of arrests of bale jumpers in Haryana state released from jails on court’s orders but failed to return within specified period and declared offenders by Haryana police during special campaign arrested maximum number of 65 absconding prisoners in Faridabad district followed by 37 prisoners in Jhajjer district, 35 prisoners in Ambala district, 23 prisoners each in Rohtak and Karnal districts, 21 prisoners in Sonepat district, 20 prisoners in Palwal district, 8 prisoners each in Panipat and Panchkula districts, 6 prisoners in Hansi district, 5 prisoners in Sirsa district, 4 prisoners each in Kurukshetra and Hisar districts, 2 prisoners in Fatehabad district, one prisoner each in Jind, Nuh and Rewari districts, 45 accused by GRP and SCRB.
