3532 old vehicles impounded, 1919 vehicle registrations cancelled at Gurugram and Faridabad

On the orders of Supreme Court and direction by NGT about ban over 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles in NCR, both Gurugram and Faridabad transport and police administration has started the special campaign to impound operations in a massive way. According to information, Transport departments along with traffic police has started a campaign and so far has already impounded 3532 vehicles and deposit at the  special yards at Gurugram and Faridabad apart from cancellation of registration of 1919 vehicles in past about a month.Information reveals that traffic police at Gurugram and Faridabad  do not have the data from RTA offices  of how many 10 and 15-year-old vehicles are in the districts since there are a large number of vehicles registered from other states. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Haryana Sanjiv Kaushal has also written a letter to Deputy Commissioners Gurugram and Faridabad giving instructions not to allow vehicles that are 10 and 15-years old and assist traffic police. He said that Automatic Testing Stations are being installed in these towns to control pollution.
