5 of a racket running network for fake ‘Remdesivir’ injections arrested

AMBALA (SATISH HANDA): Ambala police busted a racket involved in selling fake ‘Remdesivir’ injections used in the treatment of Carona disease and arrested four persons travelling in two cars bearing registration number HR050022 and DL3CCR 5469 on April 21, 2021 late night during curfew hours. The four arrested were identified as Deepak Kumar resident of Dharampura Gandhi Nagar Delhi, Karan Juneja resident of Shahdara Delhi,  Paras resident of village Naggal in Ambala district and Kanishak resident of Defence Colony Ambala Cantt. During search police recovered 24 ‘Remdesivir’ injections used for the treatment of Corona virus and Rs 30000 currency notes. They failed to produce bill or any documents as regard injections and during preliminary investigation admitted selling injections in black market. Police arrested all and impounded both vehicles.

Hameed Akhtar SSP Ambala told media persons that police also arrested fifth member of the racket identified as Gaurav resident of Yamunanagar on May 13, 2021, produced him before magistrate and sent to jail. However, sixth member of the racket identified as Pradeep also mastermind in the racket is yet absconding and police trying to arrest him. Meanwhile, Dr. Kuldeep Singh CMO Ambala district contacted manufacturing Company Hitro, which confirmed injections were fake and never manufactured by by them. He said, report from forensic laboratory has also confirmed that injections are fake   SSP Ambala told that during preliminary investigation in remand period four arrested disclosed that they had procured fake injections from a supplier and in past three months have already sold injections of value more than Rs 50 lakh in Haryana, Punjab, Uttarkhand and Delhi states. He said, police has contacted several raids for the arrest of Pradeep and also trying to reach to manufacturer and main supplier of fake injections as well as persons to whom these were supplied.
