52 vehicles  involved in illegal mining seized in 11 Haryana districts

Teams of the State Enforcement Bureau Chandigarh along with police during raids in 11 districts seized as many as 52 vehicles involved in  illegal mining, most of these were caught during night in a campaign to stop illegal mining in Haryana. The teams conducted raids in 11 districts in which checked 358 vehicles, of these a total number of 52 vehicles were seized which were being used in illegal mining activities. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said that in view of increasing cases of illegal mining in the state causing heavy financial loss to government a strict campaign has been launched across the state.

According to information, recently formed Haryana State Enforcement Bureau collecting intelligence on illegal mining operations across the state by a total of 51 teams including 480 police personnel of all ranks had conducted the raids from 11 pm on Monday night till Tuesday morning by setting up 30 posts and 66 mobile parties in eleven districts in the state at Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Faridabad and Palwal for sand mining and Nuh, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri for stone mining. The Home Minister Anil Vij has issued instructions to the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau to intensify the campaign against illegal mining and illicit liquor in the state with more vigor and effectiveness. He said that the campaign will be launched in collaboration with Transport, Town and Country Planning, Power and Irrigation Department and other stakeholder departments to provide more officers, manpower and resources to the Bureau till cases of illegal mining wiped out completely..

Vij has warned all those involved in illegal activities to stop illicit practices, otherwise stern action will be taken against them by the Enforcement Bureau of state government, has set up units in all the 22 revenue districts of the state. ADGP of the Enforcement Bureau Dr. AS Chawla while talking to media persons said that targeting such anti-social elements at multiple places simultaneously is sure to yield good results in vcase of  thefts legal mining all over in the state in coordination with District Mining Officers.
