9000 kg adulterated milk products, sweets destroyed during raids in Haryana

Talking to media persons Haryana Home & Health Minister Anil Vij disclosed that teams of CM Flying Squad, Food Safety and Food Supply departments along with police collected 848 samples of food products and sweets from different towns in the state during raids and destroyed nearly 9000 kgs milk, milk products and sweets found either adulterated or being prepared under unhygienic condition at the spot during present festival season so far which included 150 kg ‘khoya’ 3851 kg sweets and 4954 kg products used to manufacture sweets found spurious in quality destroyed at the spot. Collected samples were forwarded to the laboratory for testing.  Vij said, stern action will be taken against those supplying products found injurious to health.

Out of 848 samples of food products collected in raids during present festival season included 30 samples collected at Ambala which included 2006 kg potato chips, 2310 kg gram flour destroyed by raiding teams at the spot. Similarly 75 kg cheese and 35 kg milk sweets collected through 30 samples at Bhiwani, 34 samples collected at Charkhi Dadri, 32 samples collected at Fatehabad in which more than70 kg milk products and sweets were destroyed at the spot, CM Flying Squads collected 38 samples at Faridabad, 83 samples collected at Gurugram in which 435 kg spurious quality noodles were destroyed at the spot. CM Flying Squad collected 37 samples at Hisar during raids and destroyed huge quantity of sweets.

CM Flying Squads during 38 raids at the sweets shops at Jind collected 125 kg milk products found unfit for use and destroyed at the spot. Similarly raiding teams collected 26 samples at Jhajjar, 38 samples at Kaithal, 30 samples at Karnal, 49 samples at Kurukshetra, 21 samples at Mohindergarh,  18 samples at Mewat, 80 samples at Panchkula,  59 samples at Panipat, 9 samples at Palwal, 45 samples at Rewari, 47 samples at Rohtak, 10 samples at Sirsa, 51 samples at Sonipat and 43 samples at Yamunanagar from milk dairies and sweets shops and goods found contaminated were destroyed at the spot. Information reveals that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had directed CM Flying Squads to take strict action against those supplying adulterated food products including sweets which performed remarkable duty this festival season to take action against adulterators playing with the life of public for self-vested interest.
