Khattar challenges no-confidence move by Hooda against Khattar government

Chandigarh : Leader of opposition in Haryana Vidhan Sabha Bhupinder Hooda for chief minister recently announced that a no-confidence motion will be brought against the Manohar Lal Khattar-led state government in the upcoming Budget session over  large number of scams, increasing crimes and unemployment to youths and its failure in almost every sphere.The veteran Congress leader said the party would a;so raise the issues including in cooperatives  and illegal mining sector seeking answers from the ruling government on common man issues like increasing unemployment, irregularities in the skill employment sending the innocent youth to war-zone Israel and giving priority to outsiders in Haryana’s recruitment.

While talking to media persons Hooda said that apart from this, the Congress would also raise issues like increasing drug abuse in the state, stoppage of scholarship for scheduled castes and backward class children, fall in level of education, condition of farmers, damage caused by inclement weather and compensation for damage caused by floods. He further added the public in the state has no expectations from the upcoming state Budget as the government has not done any work except increasing the debt of the state. On the increasing incidents of extortion and firing, Hooda said the BJP-JJP government has pushed the law and order system in a state of disarray. The Budget session of the Haryana Assembly will start on February 20, which will certainly be the last Budget to be presented by the ruling incumbent BJP-JJP alliance government before the 2024 Assembly polls.

However, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar accuses Bhupinder Singhg Hooda of making ‘wrong statement’ on state-debt Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday accused Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda of making a wrong statement on the state’s outstanding debt. Opposition leader said that  Haryana has a debt of more than Rs 415,000 crore while the amount of debt on Haryana in 2021-22 has been shown at Rs 239,000 crore in the Accountant General report. Alleging that Hooda’s statement untrue, Khattar said a debt of Rs 227,697 crore was recorded in the Haryana government’s account books,  the state does not have a debt of Rs 415,000 crore in any respect, Khattar said the the state’s debt position should always be disclosed correctly and the facts placed before the House be correct. Khattar, holding the Finance department portfolio, apprised the House that Haryana’s economic condition was better than other states, adding that during the Covid period, the Centre had fixed the loan limit at 4 % of the Gross State Domestic Product while the Haryana government managed to maintain up to 2.99 %. He said that according to the Centre’s norms, Haryana could have taken a loan of Rs 40,661 crore during the Covid period, but took Rs 30,000 crore, he informed the House.

Khattar said, the policy’s objective by present government is to ensure rapid development with the voluntary participation of landowners., for this the landowners who choose not to challenge the land acquisition and accept the approved amount will be adequately compensated. He said a new system had been formulated to increase the powers of new panchayats, besides large number of proposals are being introduced for the welfare of people in the state. Khattar said, we are prepared to face opposition in the house.
