No tension at Indo-Pak border villages

Amritsar: The life at Indo-Pak borders in the Indo-Pak border villages of Amritsar and Tarn Tran was reportedly normal as usual, especially after the Indian Armed Forces on Wednesday launched “Operation Sindoor”   hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

There was no impact on lives of people living on the edge of Indo-Pak borders as shops in the border towns operate normally, village inhabitants were also found busy in their routine day to day job.

Gurmeet Singh resident of border village Chinna Bidhi Chand of Tarn Taran district said that there was no panic in village inhabitants nevertheless to say that school children enjoy at home as administration have ordered to shut all the schools for a day”.

Sucha Singh resident of border village Naushera Dhalla of Tarn Taran village said, “ People are here keeping zero tension  as none of the Government official including Army and BSF asked them to leave their village to move at safer place as a people here working as a routine and busy in their agriculture fields”

The same state of affairs was prevailing in the border village of Amritsar like Attari, Mahawa, Pul Mohra and Bikhwind. The famers who have agriculture land beyond the barbed fencing were not allowed to go there to work in their agriculture fields as gates remained shut at all the indo-Pak borders of Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts.

Nevertheless to say that a little bit restless was observed in the  Amritsar city where people queued   up to top up the fuel tanks of their vehicles and also started to store grocery inspite   of adequate insurance by the shopkeepers saying that there was no dearth of stock.

Meanwhile a heavy crowd of national and international passengers was seen outside the Shri Guru Ramdas International airport Amritsar.  Whereas the Director Airport communicated in writing “It is intimated to all concerned that all commercial/civil domestic and international flight operations are suspended from Amritsar Airport till 0530 hrs on 10.05.2025” In Amritsar city all shops and business establishments were operating as usual but schools and all educational institutions were ordered to shut by the Deputy Commissioner due to prevailing situation.
