Ram Nath Kovind to launch the Responsible Nations Index

New Delhi:  The Responsible Nations Index (RNI) is a global evaluative framework developed by the World Intellectual Foundation in academic collaboration with Jawaharlal Lal Nehru University and methodological validation by IIM Mumbai.

Addressing the media, on the RNI Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Chairperson, World Intellectual Foundation; Justice (Retd.) Arun Kumar Mishra, Chairperson (Advisory Board), World Intellectual Foundation; Col. Akash Patil, Director, Dr. Ambedkar International Centre; and Shri Sudhanshu Mittal, Secretary, World Intellectual Foundation and Prof. Rajib Dasgupta, JNU, Ms. Hemangi Sinha, Project head, highlighted the objectives and framework of the Responsible Nations Index.

The speakers stated that the Responsible Nations Index is India’s first globally anchored index that evaluates countries based on responsible governance, social well-being, environmental stewardship, and global responsibility, moving beyond conventional power- and GDP-centric measures.

The Index covers 154 countries and is based on transparent, globally sourced data.

The Index is structured around three core dimensions:

 Internal Responsibility – dignity, justice, and well-being of citizens

 Environmental Responsibility – stewardship of natural resources and climate action

 External Responsibility – contribution to peace, cooperation, and global stability

The Index aims to promote a global dialogue on ethics, responsibility, and global food. The RNI is anchored in India but global in scope. It draws from India’s civilization ethos Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The world is one Family) and Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu.(May all beings be happy and free from suffering).
