A drone smartly dropped drug consignment at Amritsar sector & moved back to Pakistan

Amritsar: Border Security Force (BSF) Troops have seized 3.055 Kg heroin (drug) from the agriculture field near the Indo-Pak border .

In a statement issued here, BSF official stated that drug consignment was smuggled to India through a drone  to India from Pakistan.

Official said that on 11th March, at about 0312 hours, BSF deployed at border, heard a buzzing sound of a suspected flying object (drone) entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area near Village – Dhanoe Kalan in District – Amritsar.

As per the laid down drill troops endeavored to intercept the drone by firing. The troops deployed in depth areas also heard the sound of something dropping in the farming fields.

Official further clarified that drone after dropping the drug consignment on Indian Territory moved back to its origin (Pakistan), hence escaped away, since it remained  on Indian territory just for a very short time.

Further, during the initial search of the area, BSF troops recovered three packets of  Heroin (Gross wt – 3.055 Kg) from the farming field of Village Dhanoe Kalan, Distt – Amritsar, he said.
