Rohtak: Congress MP Deepender Hooda has accused the ruling Haryana government of BPL card scam. He said that before the elections, the government increased the number of BPL cards to woo voters and later reduced them. Former Chief Minister Bhupendra Hooda also accused the government of giving irresponsible answers and deteriorating law and order situation. Addressing media persons at Rohtak, Bhiwani and Naraingarh (Ambala) Deepender Hooda said that after the assembly elections, more than 10 lakh BPL cards were cancelled in the state. The BPL vote scam came to light from the government’s reply in the assembly session. “Just before the 2024 elections, the BJP had increased the number of BPL cards from 27 lakh to 51 lakh in the election year to lure voters, due to which 75 percent of Haryana’s population came below the poverty line, whereas there was not so much poverty even at the time of independence,” Hooda said.

As soon as the government was formed in the state, the cards were cancelled, due to this, about 25 percent of the voter population has been affected. Deepender was speaking to the media at his MP residence in New Delhi a couple of days ago. Former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda also attacked the BJP government and said that in the monsoon session of the assembly, the government did not give the right answer to any of our questions. All the answers that came were irresponsible and contrary to reality. The CM and the ministers did not come to the House prepared. He said, all the answers to the questions raised by the opposition MLAs were misleading. Hooda said that the law and order situation in the state is very bad. Congress had brought a work stoppage proposal on this, but it was not accepted on the first day, due to which a boycott had to be done out of compulsion. BPL cards were made during the elections, but after taking votes they were cancelled. If this is not theft then what else is it, Hooda raised a question.

Bhupinder Hooda presented crime statistics in the state while talking to media at his residence in Chandigarh along with seven MLAs Dr. Raghubir Kadian, Ashok Arora, BB Batra, Aftab Ahmed, Geeta Bhukkal, Balram Dangi and Naresh Selwal. He said that Haryana is among the most unsafe states of the country. Haryana ranks third in rape cases of women and second in kidnapping cases. He said, organized criminal gangs are running criminal activities in the state. Crimes against Scheduled Caste people and women are increasing. Before 2005, even FIRs were not registered for crimes in Haryana. The Congress government started the tradition of registering FIRs. Hooda said that we wanted to discuss the law and order situation of the state with the government, but they did not consider law and order important.

Hooda said, BJP government promised to give MSP on 24 crops, but did not tell the names of these crops in the state. They do not tell why rice mills of Haryana are going to Madhya Pradesh. They are not increasing the rate of sugarcane, as a result, farmers have reduced sowing of sugarcane. The former Haryana CM    Bhupinder Hooda raised a question why are all women not being given Rs 2100 as promised prior to last elections. He raised questions on the format of the Lado Laxmi Yojana announced by the BJP government. He said that before the elections, the BJP had promised to give Rs 2100 per month to all the women of the state. Now when one year is about to complete, this announcement has been made. Hooda expressed apprehension that he is doubtful whether the scheme will be implemented or not. Talking to the media, Bhupendra Hooda said that at present BJP has talked about bringing only women with annual income up to Rs. 1 lakh under the ambit of the scheme, which is a breach of its promise. Before the elections, it was said that all women would be given the benefit of the scheme. Now, since the scheme will be implemented after one year, it is being said that women should also be given the arrears of the last one year along with interest.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party’s national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda said about Haryana’s Lado Laxmi Yojana that this scheme of Chief Minister Naib Singh is a betrayal of women. Dhanda said that 1.4 crore women live in Haryana, but the benefit of the scheme has been limited to only a few women. During the assembly elections, BJP had promised that all women would be given Rs 2100, but now sisters and daughters are being cheated by adding conditions. While talking to media, Bhupendra Hooda also raised the issues that INLD chief Abhay Chautala blames us as a B team of BJP, but the reality is that his own politics is over. Abhay should be asked who voted for BJP in Rajya Sabha. Congress won in postal votes in 76 out of 90 assembly seats. Still we were defeated.

Hooda said Elections are not conducted using EVMs anywhere in America or Germany. Elections in the country should be conducted using ballot papers. He said “BJP did not make even one player a DSP. We gave jobs to 700 players, out of which 18 were DSPs. Auction of plots of Haryana Urban Development Authority has started. They take it out gradually so that property dealers can buy them. They should not leave these plots for the poor people. The collector rate of land should be increased by more than 20 percent, which should be rolled back,” Hooda said. Congress MLAs also surrounded the government. Geeta Bhukkal said, the government did not answer any of our questions. Treatment under Ayushman Yojana has almost stopped, people are troubled since the ruling government is not paying the hospitals. Health services are very poor.
MLA BB Batra said that the government is announcing the abolition of stamp duty. When a 100-yard plot cannot be divided into two parts, then how will 50 yards of land be registered. MLA Ashok Arora said, this is the first time that the speaker did not even allow us to ask a supplementary question on the question of an MLA. We can see stubble burning through satellites, but want to see waterlogging through a portal. MLA Dr. Raghubir Kadiya said, it was said in the assembly that 50 soldiers were martyred. There was no war, but the government should tell where and when these soldiers were martyred.
