Ambala Domestic Airport likely to start services in 4 months: Anil Vij

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij had a meeting regarding proposed domestic air port at Ambala in which Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Soni and officers of Ambala Air Force Station and army authorities  were present to discuss and prepare the final blue print of this domestic airport likely to start functioning after about four months. Discussions were made about place for the entry and exit at the airport, security checking arrangements since the proposed domestic airport been situated in a highly sensitive army and air force station, all technical aspects as regard place for the visitors and waiting passengers, parking of vehicles outside the airport situated close to the residential area, transport facility inside the airport. However, all technical aspects related to this proposed domestic airport were discussed in detail, however will be will finally be decided by the officers of Civil Aviation Department to supervise the entire project till operation starts. However, Home Minister Anil Vij assured that he himself will monitor this prestigious project going to provide facilities to residents in the area.Proposed airport in 20 acre area for which land has been provided by the army authorities already been uploaded on the portal and will be transferred to the state government and amount worth Rs 40 lakh has also been approved by the government for the construction of airport. Vij said that all officers of concerned departments in the state has been directed to extend help in construction work as well as other services to enable this airport to start servicers within prescribed time. According to information, there are already two run-ways inside Air Force Station which are presently used by Indian Air Force for ‘Rafel’ as well as fighter planes and helicopter for regular practice by the air force officers at present as such highly safety measures will have to be adopted and there is a proposal initially to have flights from this domestic airport only to Srinagar and Lucknow. According to information, the air services will initially start only for Srinagar, followed by to Lucknow in due course of time.  Vij told media persons that he had a detailed talk with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as regard this domestic airport at Ambala to start functioning shortly and assured to monitor this highly influential project personally to come up within scheduled time.
