Ambala police arrested three persons, seized 2.6 kg opium

Ambala: CIA Staff-1  Ambala police on a information that drug smugglers are there to sell opium smuggled from Bihar, police team led by Inspector Harjinder Singhs started search on Panchkula- Yamyunanagar road and stopped a Maruti car bearing registration no. HR27-K0393 on the river bridge in Mulana police station area and arrested a youth identified as Somesh Kumar alias Raju a resident of Vijay Nagar Colony in Model Town area Ambala City carrying a ‘Pithu’ bag on his back along with two others including a female. When opened the bag police team recovered 2.6 kg opium in it.Addressing media persons today, SP Ambala Randhawa told that among three arrested included a female identified as Kiran a resident of village Madhubani in Bihar and a youth identified a Nathuri Sahni also resident of village Madhubani in Bihar and told police that they used to bring opium from Bihar for supply to Somesh Kumar regularly and were given a lump sum money for delivery of drugs. The arrested were produced in the court today and remanded to police custody after a case under NDPS Act was registered against three by Mulana police station.
