Amritpal Singh given tearful adieu at his native village

Amritsar : Amritpal Singh resident of village Chamyari falling in the bordering town of Ajnala Punjab who was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar on Wednesday, was given a tearful adieu today.

Amritpal Singh was cremated at his native village. A sizable crowd of village inhabitants of Chamyari of Ajnala were present in the cremation ground. A police official from Jammu and Kashmir who brought the body here was also present in the cremation ground here.

It was learnt that Amritpal Singh  was yet  bachelor, survived by parents, an elder brother and five sisters.

Family members of Singh claimed that there were no bullet injury marks found anywhere on the body, but certainly severe injury marks were seen on the head and face of Amritpal Singh. Family demanded full details about the death of Singh as how he was killed and what were circumstances that led to his death, said SGPC member Mr. Jodh Singh Samra.

It was also learnt that Rohit Masih who was seriously injured after gun attack later succumbed to bullet injuries. His body may arrive late in the evening today, said police.

It may be mentioned here on Wednesday when Amritpal Singh was shot dead at the same time another person Rohit Masih was seriously injured in the attack.

On Wednesday, terrorists fired gunshots from point blank range with an AK 47 Assault  rifle  at a non-local identified as Amritpal Singh resident of Amritsar at Shaheed Gunj Srinagar, who succumbed to the injuries. One more person identified as Rohit was grievously injured.  

Amritpal Singh had died on the spot while another non-local Rohit was hit by the bullets in the abdomen.
