Tripartite MoU to Power Innovation in Aerospace, Defence, Healthcare and Smart Cities
Bengaluru: In a significant move that promises to reshape India’s digital innovation landscape, Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has inked a landmark tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Metamind Systems Private Limited and Persistent Systems Limited. The agreement paves the way for the collaborative development of next-generation software solutions leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Data Analytics and Cyber Security.
The MoU was formally signed by Smt Durga G K, Executive Director (Software), BEL; Sri Hrishikesh Kinikar, Director, Metamind Systems; and Sri Rajesh Gharpure, Chief Delivery Officer, Persistent Systems, in the presence of Sri Rajnish Sharma, Director (Bengaluru Complex), and Sri Manoj Jain, Chairman & Managing Director, BEL.
This strategic alliance is designed to create powerful synergies by combining BEL’s deep-rooted expertise in defence technologies with Metamind’s AI-driven innovation and Persistent Systems’ global software engineering capabilities. Together, the three entities aim to build scalable, secure and future-ready software solutions for key sectors including Aerospace & Defence, Healthcare, Telecommunications, Energy and Smart Cities.
Importantly, the collaboration is not confined to the domestic market. The MoU outlines a shared vision to explore business opportunities in international markets — particularly in the United States and Latin America (LATAM) — positioning this Indian partnership as a global force in tech innovation.
Speaking on the occasion, BEL CMD Manoj Jain noted, “This MoU reinforces BEL’s commitment to expanding our capabilities in AI and software-driven platforms to meet the evolving needs of national and global markets. Together with Metamind and Persistent Systems, we aim to create robust, intelligent and secure solutions that align with our mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
Industry experts see the partnership as a significant step towards developing indigenous software ecosystems that can enhance India’s technological sovereignty in strategic and civilian domains alike. As sectors increasingly turn to intelligent systems for efficiency, safety and decision-making, the tripartite collaboration promises to deliver not just solutions — but transformational impact.
