Delhi faces Protest : Canadian Government had also faced criticism during G-20 summit in Toronto

New Delhi : NDMC area, City closed, Roads are guarded with heavy Security and 10 feet Green fencing covered looking odd places. Some people have complaints about the tight security arrangements for the G-20 summit in New Delhi. Especially the shopkeepers and businessmen of Connaught Place are protesting against the closure of the market. Something similar happened at the G-20 summit in Toronto in 2010. Rather, the controversy there was much more than this. That G-20 summit had become a victim of controversies and criticism because of the tight security arrangements. That summit is considered to be the most controversial event in the history of the G-20. Though, the global financial system and the world economy are discussed at the G-20 summit event always.

It was the year 2010, when the G-20 summit was being held in Toronto, Canada. This two-day summit was held on 26-27 June 2010 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. That was the fourth meeting of the heads of state and government associated with the G-20. 

The G-20 summit in Toronto faced criticism and controversy due to its security arrangements. The summit in Toronto that year was criticized for restricting civil liberties and creating tensions with protesters, including extensive security measures including the installation of security fences and a heavy police presence. Even the news of police action against protesters and journalists during that two-day event made headlines. But in Delhi, the Government restricted even VVIP cars at the venue. They arranged secured Bus service for Journalists and for all. One has to reach Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, leave their vehicles there and ride the bus service provided by the government itself. No protest of any kind is allowed. Leaders of 20 countries of the world are coming here to participate. For this, the areas around the venue will remain completely closed from 8th September itself.

Global events like the G20 conference are also an opportunity for the agitators to show their strength.
