Cargo flights service from Hisar airport for export of fruits & vegetables to Arab countries

While talking to media persons  as well as addressing large gathering at the ‘Kisan Mela’ held at Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University  (HAU) at Hisar, the  Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that the state government have plans to start cargo flights from Maharaja Agrasen Airport Hisar for exporting fruits and vegetables to the Arab countries having huge demand, which would not only bring revolutionary change to increase farmers income but also increase exports from the state. Chief Minister also launched underground pipeline portal and e-mobile Ap on this occasion. He also visited various stalls set up in the fair.

Khatter while addressing large gathering said that state government has constituted several plans to increase farmers’ income since the country, especially Haryana state is famous for agriculture production, but hardly 2% youth population is involved in this profession as compared to 10% youths in the state are employed in the army, as such government has created Export Promotion Council making experiments to increase farmers income enabling youths in the state may adopt agriculture profession. CM made an appeal to the scientists of HAU to start research on to reduce the cost of production and increase agriculture production, especially in production of seeds, fertilizers and limited use of chemicals harming quality of agriculture produce and also to encourage production of natural agriculture. He said that the state government has provision for the attractive subsidy amount for the farmers willing to install recharging borewell for which they will have to invest only Rs 25000.

While Addressing, Chief Minister Khattar said that earlier we used to import wheat from Russia and in due course of time high quality wheat production was started in the country. He said that nearly 80%population in the country was earlier dependent on the agriculture profession but in due course of time our young generation started losing interest in this profession and switched over to industry as well as alternate professions, but still nearly 48% families in Haryana are yet dependant on agriculture in-spite of the fact the state is facing acute shortage of water as such measures are being taken to promote micro-irrigation system to reduce the demand of water in agriculture on which handsome amount of subsidy is being provided to farmers in Haryana state.  Khattar said that farmers in the state are now changing pattern of crop from paddy, which requires maximum water for irrigation, to other crops need less amount of water for which state government providing Rs 7000 per acre compensation to the farmers. Chief Minister told that during recent state budget maximum amount has been sanctioned for agriculture developments in the state and new schemes beneficial for the farmers being introduced.
