Chhattisgarh pushes for interstate industrial collaboration in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: Chhattisgarh is positioning itself as a key investment destination with robust connectivity, efficient logistics, progressive industrial policies for 2024–2030, and transparent facilitation mechanisms, Rajiv Agrawal, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC), said here on Friday.

Agrawal was leading a high-level industry delegation to Ludhiana to engage with business leaders, industry associations and stakeholders, with the aim of promoting investment opportunities in Chhattisgarh.

As part of the visit, CSIDC, in association with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), organised an interaction session titled “Investment Opportunities in Chhattisgarh”. The event saw participation from members of PHDCCI Punjab and the Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO).

In his keynote address, Agrawal highlighted the state’s stable policy environment, dedicated industrial parks and sector-specific incentives, stating that these factors have strengthened Chhattisgarh’s appeal across manufacturing, food processing, engineering and emerging sectors.

He emphasised that the state government’s industrial policy framework for 2024–2030 offers clarity and long-term certainty to investors.

“Chhattisgarh combines policy stability with infrastructure readiness and a transparent single-window mechanism for investment facilitation,” he said, inviting Ludhiana-based enterprises to explore expansion opportunities in the state.

Vishwesh Kumar, Managing Director, CSIDC, delivered a detailed presentation outlining the state’s industrial ecosystem, ongoing policy initiatives and upcoming investment prospects. He elaborated on sector-focused incentives and the state’s efforts to streamline approvals and improve ease of doing business.

The session also featured remarks from O.P. Banjare, General Manager, CSIDC; Omkar Pahwa, Chairman and Managing Director of Avon Cycles; Dr Anirudh Gupta, Convener of the Regional Education & Skill Development Committee, PHDCCI, and CEO of DCM Group of Schools; CA Vishal Garg, Co-Convener, Ludhiana Zone, PHDCCI; and Gurmeet Kullar, President, FICO.

The proceedings were moderated by Atul K. Thakur, Senior Secretary, State Development Council and Chhattisgarh State Chapter, PHDCCI.

During the visit, the delegation toured leading industrial units in Ludhiana, including Avon Cycles and PI Cottex Pvt. Ltd. The team interacted with plant leadership and observed modern manufacturing processes and operational practices.

Officials said the visit strengthened industrial linkages between Chhattisgarh and Punjab and could pave the way for greater interstate collaboration and fresh investment flows into the manufacturing sector.
