China lacks behind Panipat in export of powerloom, carpet and textile machinery

Panipat: Textile and handloom manufacturing industry at Panipat now gaining popularity popularity in manufacturing and export of powerloom, carpet and other textile machinery all over in the world, especially in USA and Europeean countries  because of lower prices and superior quality as compared to machinery manufactured in China in past years. About five years ago, the manufacturers of textile and handloom products at Panipat used to import such machinery from China, but now the scenario have changed and equiment manufactured bt the manufacturers in Panipat are in much demand in USA, all European and Asian countries and industry at Panipat already receiving export orders for value worth over Rs 100 crore annually, it was disclosed by Sukhbir Malik, President of Panipat Small Engineering  Workshop Association while talking to The Financial World.
Malik said, Panipat manufacturers are getting orders for the machinery required for manufacturing textile home furnishing products  including electronic powerloom of capacity ranging between 32 to 250 inch, carpet weaving  machinery and other textile and handloom manufacturingt equipment and recently supplied huge quantity of machinery to Nepal and Bangladesh also with satisfactory feedback that equipment manufactured in Panipat have much lesser wear and tear as compared to textile equipment manufactured in China. Malik told that small scale mannual textile machinery was developed by Panipat machinery manufacturers years ago but textile manufacturers was having  requirement for hitech textile machinery to compete textile industry in China, which have successfully been developed by Panipat entrepreneurs and 250 inch powerloom plus electrically operated machine manufactured in Panipat is available at 10 nearly percent lesser price as well as better in quality as compared to machines manufactured in China.
Malik told that textile machinery is also being manufactured at Amritsar in Punjab as well as Ahmedabad and Surat in Gujarat state, but these are not superior in quality than machinery developed at Panipat, besides are also higher in prices as compared to machinery manufactured at Panipat as well as machinery produced at Amritsar in Punjab, Surat and Ahmedabad in Gujarat state.  Malik told that about 10 years ago government had assured to develop a common facility cntre (CFC)at Panipat to boost manufacturing textile machinery for which 2218 meter land was also identified at Panipat and a budget was also approved by the government in which amount worth Rs 1.5 crore was to be spent by the state government and the remaining amount towards cost of equipment for Rs 12 crore was to be spent by government in centre but the projet announced by the government years ago yet hanging on fire since then without any further action.
