Congress rule starts in Karnataka

Five Guarantees to be implemented soon

New Delhi-: “ We will give administration to people as they expect from us, and the five guarantees will be passed in the cabinet meeting today and order will be issued to implement them from today itself, said Siddharamiah, in his official speech today after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

In the Presence of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, Siddharamaiah said ,” We are confident that we can implement the guarantees soon without pushing the State into debt”. He took oath as the Chief Minister of the state and DK Shivkumar as Deputy Chief Minister. Shivkumar is considered as the main architect of the Congress win in the Southern State. He Tweeted “  I promise that Congress government  will guarantee sustained progress and welfare in the State”.

After many days of meetings and discussions Congress named Siddharamiah as CM candidate and DK Shivkumar as Deputy CM.  Siddaramaiah is considered as a mass leader with over five decades of political experience while DK Shivkumar hails from Vokkaliga community. Along with them Eight Congress MLAs including KH Muniyappa, G Parameshwara, KJ George, MB Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Kharge, Ramalinga Reddy and B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan also took oath as cabinet Ministers at Sree kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru. They all are from different caste and community. The leaders of other opposition parties including Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, and Former J& K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah were also present with the Congress leaders.

 The newly elected Chief Minister today said that the first cabinet meeting has issued orders for the implementation of five guarantees promised before the Elections. The five freebies are 200 units of free power ( Gruha jyoti) to all households, Rs 2000 to women head of the family (Gruha lakshmi) 10 kg rice to every BPL family ( Anna Bhagya), Rs 3000 every month to every unemployed Graduate youth, and Rs 1,500 for unemployed diploma holders( Yuva nidhi) and free travel for women in public transport buses.

Amid talks of opposition Unity Congress has not invited Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. They did not reach to BSP supremo Mayawati, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.   This is the Second term of Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister of the State.
