Committee formed to monitor supply of commercial LPG cylinders in Haryana
Panipat: The CPI(M), CITU, and All India Kisan Sabha protested against the shortage of cooking gas, rising prices, and black marketing in the Industrial Town Panipat. The protesters raised slogans against the central government and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner in the name of the Prime Minister. The protesters gathered in front of the Indane and Bharat Gas agencies on Sunauli Road, shouted slogans against the BJP-led central government and submitted a memorandum to the District Deputy Commissioner in the name of the Prime Minister.
Addressing the protest, CITU State Secretary Sunil Dutt said that the common people are facing severe financial and mental hardship due to the shortage of cooking gas and the ever-rising prices. People are forced to stand in long queues for hours and face difficulties in booking gas. “He said that in the industrial city of Panipat, a large number of migrant workers work in the textile industry and oil refinery, but they do not have gas connections. “Consequently, they are forced to purchase gas from the open market at high prices using small cylinders. This is further worsening the workers’ financial situation,” Sunil Dutt said.
Dr. Surendra Malik said that the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on March 23rd will be celebrated as Anti-Imperialism Day against the government’s policies. A massive rally of farmers and laborers will also be held at Ramlila Maidan Delhi on March 24th, announcing a nationwide movement against the government’s policies. Presidents on the occasion included All India Kisan Sabha District Secretary Rajpal Gahlayan, Vice President Dilawar Singh Rathi, United Kisan Morcha leader Fauji Rohtas Malik, Industrial Workers Union Panipat General Secretary Jai Bhagwan, CITU leaders Naveen Sapra, Nirmala Ahlawat, Bunty and Seema Sharma, and other leaders will join this protest.
Non-supply of LPG Cylinder worries during wedding season worrying consumers. Information reveals Haryana government changing system for the allocation of commercial LPG supply. The Haryana government has implemented a new system to ensure the availability of commercial LPG cylinders through district-level committees headed by Deputy Commissioners. A committee headed by Deputy Commissioners will be formed to monitor the supply of commercial LPG cylinders. District-level committees headed by Deputy Commissioners will make the allocation till the situation improves. Committee to be formed in each district will consist of the Superintendent of Police, Chief Medical Officer and District Education Officer as members, while the District Food and Supplies Controller will be the member secretary. This committee will allocate cylinders based on the available LPG stock and needs in the district.

Cylinders will also be available for wedding ceremonies, especially those involving daughters. 20 percent of the average daily consumption of commercial LPG cylinders will be made available to the state government to allocate cylinders based on need and priority. According to a government spokesperson, this gas will be used exclusively for essential services. Hospitals will receive priority access to commercial LPG cylinders. Educational institutions and hostels will also receive gas as needed. Cylinders may also be provided for wedding ceremonies based on need.
