Custom department seized 3.40 Kgs of 24 Carat gold valued at Rs.1.95 Crores  at SGRDJI

Amritsar : Sleuths of Customs department  at Shri Guru RAmdas International Airport (SGRDJI), Amritsar intercepted various passengers coming from Dubai and Sharjah by Spicejet/Air Express flights and recovered 3.40 Kgs of 24 Carat gold valued at Rs.1.95 Crores In 13 different cases.

In an official statement issued here today, the Customs department said that the gold was concealed in the bottle cap of a water bottle, beneath the luggage trolley, zip-lining of jeans pants, swallowing of gold coins by the passengers, in the undergarments, rectum concealment. The gold was seized as per provisions of Customs Act, 1962.

Further investigation is underway, said customs official.
