Dengue spreading in Haryana, 367 cases reported so far

Chandigarh: Dengue cases are continuously increasing in Haryana. Till Sunday, 367 dengue cases have been reported in the state so far which include a one-year-old child who died in Panipat. According to the Health Department in the state Dengue cases are increasing rapidly in Haryana. The number of cases this year has increased rapidly as compared to last year. Last year Panchkula became a hot-spot of dengue where the number of dengue cases had reached 390 till September 15. According to the health department, a team of more than 50 employees is working in the field for dengue prevention and sampling in the districts across the state, which need an increase in sampling across the state by the health department. Chief medical officers in all civil hospitals have been instructed to make adequate sampling and treatment arrangements to deal with dengue patients. Officials say that the Aedes mosquito can travel on its own only up to a range of 400 meters. This mosquito can go anywhere with humans in any other vehicle such as a car. It hides in dark and cold places such as corners of a house or cars. This mosquito bites especially during the day and afternoon.

The District wise cases of dengue cases in Haryana has been identified as maximum number of 106 cases in Rewari, 51 cases in Gurugram, 29 cases in Karnal, 25 cases in Sonipat, 23 cases in Rohtak, 18 cases in  Panchkula, 15 cases in Jhajjar, 14 cases each in Panipat and yamunanagar,  9 cases each in Charkhi Dadri and Hisar, 8 cases rach in Faridabad, Kaithal  and Mahendragarh, 7 cases in Nuh, 5 cases in Kurukshetra, 4 cases in Ambala, 3 cases in Sirsa and 2 cases in Fatehabad. However, no dengue case has been reported from Bhiwani.
