Rewari: Haryana’s Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapoor held a meeting with senior police officers in Rewari on Saturday. DGP was welcomed by SP Hemendra Meena. He had a review meeting at the District Police Office and personally communicated with all the SHOs of the district and took their performance report. DGP Kapoor said that the suspicious letter found recently in Hisar is a fraud conspiracy aimed at targeting families whosis found e children are found missing. He said that if any concrete lead related to this letter is found, the police teams are ready to investigate the same. He also appealed to the people not to fall prey to fraud by getting lured by such letters.
The DGP said that the Anti Human Trafficking Wing is actively working to stop human trafficking in the state. Under the zero tolerance policy of the state government, Bangladeshi citizens and other illegal residents living in the state will be identified and sent back. DGP Kapoor said that there has been a decline in the crime rate in Haryana, especially in cases related to drug abuse and cyber fraud, and there has been a 49 percent reduction in the crimes in the last 5 months. He said, a significant decline has also been seen in crimes against women in the state. In a review meeting held at Rewari SP office, DGP reviewed the functioning of police stations, discussed in detail with all DSPs and station in-charges regarding crime control in the district, settlement of pending cases and the process of resolving public complaints. He said that timely and effective resolution of public complaints should be ensured.
The DGP gave strict instructions regarding law and order and instructed all the officers that any kind of negligence regarding law and order will not be tolerated. He said, officers posted in the field will have to work with responsibility and accountability and also stressed on maintaining a positive image of the police department. DSP Headquarters Dr. Ravindra Kumar, DSP Bawal Surendra Sheoran, DSP City Jogendra Sharma, DSP Traffic Vinod Shankar and all the police station in-charges of the district were present in this review meeting. which continued till late evening.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had chaired a review meeting on the implementation of three New Criminal Laws in Haryana in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in New Delhi. He said, Haryana should ensure 100% implementation of the three New Criminal Laws becoming the protectors of civil rights and the basis of ‘ease of justice’. He reviewed implementation and current status of various new provisions related to police, prisons, courts, prosecution, and forensics in Haryana in the meeting emphasizing on the use of technology.
The Home Minister said that more than one forensic mobile van should be available in every district of the state and the responsibility of monitoring Zero FIRs should be of Dy. SP level officer. He suggested that the DGP of the state should sensitize all police personnel that providing timely justice is their priority, ensuring that investigations are completed within the prescribed timeframes by all SPs. Union Home Minister said, Haryana’s Chief Minister should review progress of the implementation of the three new laws every 15 days, while Chief Secretary, Director Generals of the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), Director General of the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) and other senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the State Government, whereas DGP should conduct weekly reviews.
