Compared to the same period in 2024, 100 criminals, 29 gangsters/gang members and 227 heinous offenders were arrested in the past six months this year till June 30, indicating that the STF struck much deeper at gang networks, resulting in reduced gang activity, according to the police information.
Panchkula: The Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police has achieved success in its operations against organised crime between January 1 and June 29 this year. It arrested 58 criminals with rewards on their head, 101 gangsters/gang members, and 178 heinous offenders. Compared to the same period in 2024, 100 criminals, 29 gangsters/gang members, and 227 heinous offenders were arrested, indicating that the STF struck much deeper at gang networks, resulting in reduced gang activity, according to the police, Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur while addressing media persons here stated that the STF was a symbol of their commitment to combating organised crime in the state. He praised the STF for its commendable and inspiring work against gangsters, narcotics networks, online ” and interstate crime syndicates in the state, even beyond state boundaries.
“Leveraging modern technology, analytical capabilities, and dedicated human resources, the STF has not only dismantled criminal strongholds but also positioned itself. The STF Haryana is becoming more capable, vigilant, and advanced. In the coming times, it will emerge as a model unit for crime control across the state as well as country. Through its strategic vision, technological proficiency, courageous operations, the STF has proven how a strong, dedicated, and modern police force can play a decisive role in the fight against organised crime,” DGP said.
Information reveals, Haryana Police’s Special Task Force (STF) achieved remarkable success in its decisive operations against organized crime between January 1 and June 29, 2025. During this period, STF arrested 58 rewarded criminals, 101 gangsters/gang members, 178 heinous offenders and a total of 195 rewarded criminals were arrested during the year, successfully putting them behind bars. These achievements highlight aggressive strategy, rapid response, and direct strikes on criminal networks by STF in 2025, which have significantly strengthened the protective shield against crime in the state as compared with the same period in the year 2024, in which 100 rewarded criminals, 29 gangsters/gang members, and 227 heinous offenders were arrested, but has also positioned Haryana Police as a strong cyber and organized crime-fighting agency at the national level which clearly indicates that in 2025, Haryana police struck much deeper at organized gang networks, resulting not only in reduced gangster activity but also in the overall containment of organized crime. In cases involving heinous crimes, STF was notably more proactive—397 arrests in 2024, up from 200 in 2023, showing a near 98% rise, which are proof of STF’s swift and decisive action in cases of murder, kidnapping, rape, and other serious crimes.
