Duped youths sent to France locked in Georgia jail

Desire to make it big and earn loads of money is the main reason behind major chunk of youths going overseas and many times are trapped in the net of cheat immigration agents. Four youths Muneesh Kumar resident of village Bhanokheri near Ambala City, Rakesh Kumar, Balvinder Singh and Abhninder Singh all residents of Patiala duped by a travelling agent sent to France on work permit were arrested by police at Georgia border and spent two and half months empty stomach in the jail at Georgia by a travel agency owned by three brothers against those a cheating case has been registered by Patiala police.

According to complainant Muneesh Kumar, the travel agency had charged Rs 10 lakh from each but sent tem to Iran on October 16, 2019 to Iran instead of direct to France by air from Jaipur airport instead of New Delhi airport from where they were sent to Georgia by road but arrested by police at the border and sent to jail on October 29, 2019 and remained in lock up till January 16, 2020. He said, they were tortured in the jail and offered meal once in 24 hours disclosing that police took their passports and mobile phones but they managed to speak to their families when a friend from Patiala reached Georgia along with Rs 2 lakh to pay fine Rs 50000 each on court’s order.

A case was registered with the grain market Patiala police station against three brothers running travel agency. Gurnam Singh in-charge police station said that police has conducted raids for the arrest of three brothers Gursewak Singh, Karamveer Singh and Samanpreet Singh running travel agency all absconding.
