Fake call centre racket busted with 36 arrests including 11 females

The cases of on-line fraud are fast increasing day by day in Haryana. The team of Crime Branch DLF Faridabad exposed a fake call center running in Spring Field on Friday late night and arrested 36 youths including 11 females from the spot., and also recovered Laptops and notes prepared for talking to foreigners from the arrested accused. The kingpin of the operation, also the call centre owner is yet to be arrested. Raid was conducted by a team of the crime branch in a building at Springfield colony market in Sector-31.Thirty-six youths posing as employees of a US-based bank were arrested for providing solutions and facilities to the customers of the bank were allegedly involved in duping them.

Sube Singh of police said, the cops raided the premises on the second floor of Veer Plaza complex at around 3.30 pm and found that an illegal call centre was reportedly extorting money from the bank’s customers without having licence or any document issued by the Department of Telecommunication, reportedly been operational for over two months. The accused arrested at the spot were residents of Delhi, Faridabad and the northeastern states. A case has been registered under various IPC sections related to forgery and fraud, and the IT Act. Sube Singh said that the accused used to talk to foreign nationals posing as Bank of America employees and extort money from them and the matter is being investigated thoroughly. He said, as soon as the information was received a search warrant was obtained from DCP Central and In the first room three young men were talking to foreign nationals in English with earphones in their ears and a laptop in front of them were arrested. Police interrogation revealed that all three accused were residents of Delhi identified as Jai, Gagan and Suraj.

After investigating the first room, the police reached the second room. and found about 30 young men and women were talking to people in English in a hall by connecting earphones to their laptops. The police started interrogating the accused. Apart from the laptop, notes written in English on diary pages were also recovered from them. Police investigation revealed that the accused were talk to foreign nationals as per the notes, pretending to be employees of Bank of America. The accused told during police interrogation that the owner of the call center is Kabir, a resident of Delhi, whereas they all between age 20 and 30  were employees. The police have started searching for the main king likely to be arrested  soon.
