Ambala Police got a big success in busting an illegal factory manufacturing illegal liquor on 3rd May and seized huge stocks of liquor being supplied in Haryana and Punjab in different brands. Shahzadput police in Ambala district arrested four accused and produced them in the court, from where they were sent on police remand. Police has now arrested another accused in this case and the number of total arrests has reached six. However, the timely action has saved a big mishap like in past few months in which a large number of people had lost lives in Ambala and Yamunanagar districts after consuming the liquor being manufactured in an illegal factory in Ambala district.
Haryana police in Ambala has now busted an illegal liquor factory in Shahzadpur, seizing a large quantity of spurious liquor and materials to manufacture the same. Four individuals, Gurpreet Singh of Uprali-Dhamauli village , Surinder Singh of Bapauli village , Sandeep, and Sachin both residents of Govindpur village were arrested during the police raid. The illicit operation was owned by Satwinder Singh alias Bittu of Dhanana village originally hailing from Himachal Pradesh, who has been arrested. The police confiscated spirit, liquor labeled under various brands, empty bottles, packaging, and sealing machines.The illegal liquor manufacturing unit was operating in a rented house in a colony of Shahzadpur town. The raid resulted in the seizure of a massive quantity of illicit liquor and related materials. Acting on a tip-off received late Wednesday night, a police team led by Shahzadpur police Station House Officer Jitender Dhillon raided a rented property near Modern City Colony in the town.
During the raid, the police seized 109 boxes of spurious country-made desi liquor labeled under the brands Punjab Rasila Santra Marka, Masti Malti Marka and Asli Mota Santra Marka. Notably, none of the boxes carried batch numbers on the bottles. The police team confiscated 540 litres of spirit kept in three drums containing 250, 160, and 130 litres respectively; 9,600 empty bottles; 6,400 bottle caps; 2,050 empty liquor packaging boxes; 12 large and 30 small empty drums, wrappers, holograms, QR codes, and other packaging materials, two machines used for sealing bottle caps. The bottle leads bore the names of two distilleries, which are now under scrutiny. ASI Shahzadpur police station registered a case at Shahzadpur police station on Thursday early morning against the five individual under Sections 110, 274, 318(4), 336(3), 338, 340, and 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (as amended by the Haryana Amendment Bill, 2020). SHO Jitender Dhillon stated that the raid was part of directives from SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat.The four arrested individuals were presented in court and remanded to four days of police custody for further interrogation.
