Five of Inter-state gang involved in over 50 robberies  arrested by Ambala police

Ambala : Ambala police arrested five members of a gang involved in nearly 50 cases of robberies in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal and Jammu. states. The gang members admitted stolen 60 goats at gun point during mid-night at village Gorasia under Naggal police station in Ambala district and took away towards Punjab side in a pick-up van when Ambala police arrested one of the accused  Saleem Sahu a resident of Chamba district in Himachal on 26th October 2023 and police reached up to the other members of the gang on 28th October.

Addressing a press conference SP Ambala Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said media persons that among those arrested include the mastermind in the gang Makhandeen most wanted in as many as 13 cases, Saleem a resident of village Sahu Gadyali in Chamba district, Zafar Ali, Asabdeen alias  alias Aashif and Liakat Ali resident of Kathua district in J&K. Randhawa said that police have yet to arrest two other  members of the gang and with the arrest of five members have solved as many as 31 cases of robberies, and yet as many as 19 cases are untraced. He said that according to information FIRs were registered against the gang members at the  police stations in Ambala, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Nawanshehar, Ludhiana, Mohali and Rajpura (Patiala) districts. Police recovered two vehicles from the gang members including a swift car and a Pick-up van originally having registration number from Jammu but they used to change the number plate before committing a robbery. SP told that police could not collect cash from the arrested accused.
