Gangsters from Punjab & U.P spreading criminal activities in Haryana

Since past couple of years gangsters and hard core criminals from Punjab and U.P have increased criminal activities in Haryana in which districts adjoining Punjab state including Ambala, Yamunanagar and  Panchkula as well as industrial town Panipat district neighboring U.P have been  worst affected due to increasing cases of robberies, dacoities, snatichings  and murders.  While conducting a survey of crimes situation by a team of media persons at industrial town Panipat having more than 5000 industrial units manufacturing textile and handloom products crime situation is out of control in-spite of the fact police has increased security measures, night patrolling and have installed nearly 70 police barriers in the the area. Information by Ajit Singh Shekhawat SP Panipat reveals that youths from nearby areas Baghpat, Shamli, Jhinjhana and Meerut district have criminal background committing criminal activities and manage to escape.
According to Shekhawat SP, district Panipat has witnessed 32 cases of robbery, three dacoities, 28 cases of murder, 46 snatching cases and large number of miscellaneous crimes in past five to six months in which police arrested 177 hard core criminals from nearly 25 gangs active in the area when police arrested 42 snatchers wanted in more than 28 snatching cases and most of the criminals involved in crimes were hailing from adjoining U.P area. SP told media persons that district police have busted 25 gangs of criminals in the past about five months which included 177 persons and most of them were those released from jails on bales and started committing crimes again while on parole. He said, out of 28 murder cases registered at various police stations in Panipat district, police have already solved 26 cases and arrested 43 accused. SP said that in the same way out of 32 robbery cases police have solved  28 cases so far in which 92 accused were arrested by police. and efforts are being made for the arrest of the remaining accused.

According to information, as many as six ATM thefts were reported to the Panipat police in which police arrested a gang led by an ex-army employee Sukhvinder Singh alias Sukha a resident of Patiala district. Shekhawat said that police arrested four members of the gang when they committed an ATM robbery on 3rd May this year. However, two members of the gang manage to flee abroad. It was decided three police forces from Haryana, Punjab and U.P should join hands along with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to list out and map the entire network of various criminal syndicates active in the northern states. The decision was taken in high-level inter-state coordination meeting held in Panchkula under the chairmanship of NIA director general Dinkar Gupta, a Punjab cadre IPS officer and former DGP of Punjab. DGP Haryana PK Agrawal underlined the urgency of taking swift and decisive action to dismantle the networks of these criminal syndicates. Gaurav Yadav DGP Punjab present in this meeting said, growing nexus between criminals and gangsters with their inter-state linkages and conflicts, has become a cause for concern for the northern states,

Representatives from various agencies presented their findings and insights into the ongoing investigations during the meeting. Officials from the NIA, Haryana Police, Punjab Police, and Chandigarh Police made presentations and shared information regarding the operations, modus operandi, and key individuals associated with these criminal syndicates. DGP Chandigarh Praveer Ranjan underlined the importance of close inter-state coordination and joint operations, saying criminal syndicates were operating all over, including Chandigarh.Among others who attended the meeting included special DGP (internal security) Punjab, RN Dhoke; ADGP (CID) Haryana Alok Mittal; and ADGP (law and order) Haryana Mamta Singh.
