HARCO Bank MD wanted in 100 crore co-operative scam absconding

Chandigarh: Managing Director of The Haryana State Co-operative Apex (HARCO) Bank Naresh Goel, most wanted in about 100 crore scam exposed by the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have went underground, suspected managed to flee abroad by fake passport since his original passport has been seized by ACB, which have conducted several raids at different hide for his arrest. Goel was Nodal Officer of the Co-operative Department in the state. However, his application seeking anticipatory bail was rejected by the session court as well high court. According to ACB officers nearly 20 persons including about 10 officers have already been arrested in this case by ACB so far on the directions by the former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and then state co-operative minister Dr Banwari Lal.

Mahipal Dhanda, present minister has directed ACB to take stern action against all accused involved in this fraud and no one will be spared at any cost. Chander Mohan ACB SP handling this case said that all airports in the country have been directed to keep a strict eye on Goel, may not be able to leave the country on the basis of a fake passport. He said that cases have been registered against all officers involved in this case including Anu Koshish Assistant Registrar and a private businessman Stalinjit Singh both prime accused in the case . He said, payments were released on the basis of fake bills as well as fake companies in many cases,and the money was later transferred in their bank accounts, also money was sent to Dubai and Canada through Hawala.
