Haryana DGP PK Aggarwal reviews crime, law and order situation

Panchkula : Addressing media persons at Panchkula, Director General of Police in Haryana P.K. Aggarwal said that in order to wipe out crime as well as fast rising drugs and liquor smuggling in the state, decision has been taken for stern action against anti-social elements mushrooming in the state involved in criminal activities within the state as well as in adjoining states in 2023 also. He disclosed that CID in the state has already prepared a list of hard core criminals involved in criminal activities including murders, attempt to murders, ransom demands, kidnappings, rapes, dacoities, drugs smuggling and few of them having links with gangster groups also having number of illegal properties built with black money in the state.

DGP told that Special Task Forces in Haryana state had identified as many as 72 illegal properties in the state owned by such hard core criminals, many of them involved in drugs smuggling which were demolished by bulldozers during year 2022. He added that CID has preapared a list of several hardcore criminals having illegal properties in Harayana state yet to be demolished this year.  Aggarwal said that state police arrested 11463 anti-social elements involved in criminal activities during the year 2022 which included 334 hardcore criminals, most wanted by the police on which award up to Rs one lakh was declared by the state government for their arrest, which included maximum number of 43 criminals from Faridabad,  40 from Mohindergarh, 28 from Palwal, 26 from Sonipat, 24 from Rohtak 21 each from Gurugram and Kurukshetra districts.

DGP said that among 72 properties in Haryana owned by hardcore criminals as identified by CID Haryana were demolished during year 2022 which included maximum number of 35 properties in Faridabad, 9 in Sirsa, 6 each in Kurukshetra and Rohtak, 4 each in Kaithal and Yamunanagar, 2 each in Ambala and Hisar and one in Rewari district. He said, there is a list of large number of illegal properties yet to be demolished in the state shortly.      Aggarwal told media persons that on an average 956 criminals and bale jumpers were arrested by Haryana police every month. He said according to police record total number 6552 persons involved in criminal activities and 4911 bale jumpers were rounded by the police during past year, of them 951 criminals and 912 bale jumpers were arrested by the crime branch and 5601 criminals and 3999 bale jumpers were rounded by police field units in the state. DGP Haryana told that large numbers of criminals including some of them most wanted by the state police spreading terror in the state have been identified by the police yet to be arrested in order to make Haryana crime free during 2023.
