Head granthi Akal Takht justifies the murder of Kanchan Kumari

Amritsar: Justifying the murder of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi who  was allegedly brutally murdered by the Nihang Sikhs, Akal Takht Head Granth (Head priest Gyani  Malkeet Singh said that there was no space  in Sikh religion for such kind of obscene acts.

Talking to media on Monday, Gyani Malkeet Singh said, “As per Sikh religion’s teaching everybody including Hindus and Muslims should maintain distance from obscene Punjabi songs especially young Sikh generation. Some people, who are from other religions, change their name and create false identity in order to defame the Sikh community will have to face such dire consequences as happened with her. Moreover, this is not the first time this incident occurred as earlier such things also happened in past”.

Earlier, Kanchan Kumari’s body was found inside a car in the parking area of Adesh University in the Bathinda district of Punjab.  In this regard Police had arrested two suspects namely Jaspreet Singh and Nimratjit Singh, whereas  the key main accused Amritpal Singh Mehron has reportedly  fled  to the UAE and may surrender in the coming days.

According to police reports, Mehron had time and again warned many other social media influencers in the state for allegedly spreading vulgarity. Influencer Deepika Luthra from Amritsar who was receiving  death threats from Mehron because of her double meaning contents being posted in social media platforms confined herself at home. Commissioner Police Amritsar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar in the light of prevailing circumstances deployed police security outside her house for her protection.
