Hisar in Haryana among 9 railway stations to have multifunctional complexes

Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is going to set up multifunctional complexes initially at nine railway stations in the country in West Bengal, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana states for which tender have already been invited. Railway department has decided to develop multifunctional complex at Hisar railway station in Haryana state during first phase. RLDA will provide nearly 372 to 2350 square meter land adjacent to the railway station on 45 years lease basis for developing these multifunctional complex having facility for shopping complex, fast food stall, restaurant, book stall, ATM counter, medical store, variety store, hotel accommodation under a roof and sufficient parking space to attract train passengers as well as visitors to railway station since multifunctional complex will be situated very close to the railway platform, which will also bring handsome income for investors in this project.

 RLDA Vice President V.P. Dudeja told media persons that railways will provide facilities like drinking water, sewerage system and regular supply of electricity round the clock in these multifunctional complexes at the railway stations to be developed in the country. He told that RLDA has already allotted 58 sites for multifunctional complexes on 45 years lease basis and work to develop 16 complexes has already been started in the country. According to information, RLDA has plans to develop four types of projects at or near the railway stations which include developing business sites, re-development of railway colonies, face lifting of railway stations and railway offices.

Information reveals, RLDA has started work at 16 railway stations in the country during current financial years which include Bangalore and Raichur in Karnatka state, Lilua and Namak gola in Howrah state, Nizamabad in Telgana state, Waltex Road and Agmor in Chinnai state, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh state, Ludhiana in Punjab state, Abu Road in Rajasthan state, Bhusawal and Sholapur in Maharashtra state, Bareilly, Varanasi and Gorakhpur in U.P state where land adjoining the railway stations has already been allotted on 45 years lease basis which have brought earning to railways  worth Rs 1633 crore. Information also reveals that RLDA is also going to start development program in railway colonies at Bangluru, Bhopal, Agmor,  Chinnai, Bareilly and Ludhiana on which amount nearly Rs 226 crore will be spent.
