In a joint operation of BSF and Punjab police seized 5.5 Kilogram heroin

Amritsar, June 3 – Border Security Force ( BSF) and Punjab police in joint operation have seized 5.5 kilogram heroin (drug)  here today which was smuggled to India from Pakistan through drone.

In a statement issued here today, BSF official stated that on  3rd June  at about 0250 AM, Joint ambush party of Border Security Force & Punjab Police heard a mild buzzing sound of drone and dropping of consignment at the outskirts of Indo-Pak border village – Rai, in Amritsar.

Further, during a comprehensive search of the area, troops recovered a big consignment containing five packets of Narcotics, from a farming field of Village – Rai in Amritsar district. An iron ring was also found attached with the consignment.

The Gross weight of the recovered consignment of narcotics (Heroin) was 5.5 kilogram. No arrest has been made in this regard as  further investigation is underway.
