In day light dacoity Rs. 22 lac looted from  the Punjab National Bank

Amritsar, February 16 – In a day light dacoity Rs. 22 lakh looted from the Maclod Road Branch of Punjab National Bank here today. The branch of the Bank is just one hundred meters away from the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Talking to media Deputy Commissioner Detective Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar said that two unidentified looters arrived outside the bank on  a scooter and one of them wearing a mask on face entered the bank with a pistol. On getting entry in the bank, the accused asked everybody to hands up and asked the cashier to fill all the cash in the carry bag. After looting cash from the cashier, the accused escaped away.

DCP said that at the time of the crime there was no security guard with the bank. Even the bank failed to blow siren after the incident.

DCP said that when the accused entered the bank with a pistol, all were scared and the cashier became nervous who within no time handed over the cash to the accused. DCP said that various police teams have been dispatched to nab the accused and to be arrested shortly.
