“International Women’s Day” Celebration at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology

Mohali: Gian Jyoti Institute of Management And Technology celebrated the International Women’s Day with the theme of “Sodashi” An Appreciation Award Ceremony, on 3rd March 2023 in campus. As the word “Sodashi” means Wholeness, Purity and Radiance, this event shows gratitude to the women for their contribution in the field of Education and Societal Development. All the Private and Government school Principals of the Tricity of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula were invited to grace the occasion formally. Around 100 Principals and School Coordinators participated in this mega event.
Event started with the enlightening of Deepshikha by dignitaries present.
A Tribute was given to Maa Shakti Swaroopa to mark the event day. The Director of GJIMT Dr. Aneet Bedi welcomed the Guests. She said that women are integral part of society and without women; survival of mankind is not possible on this earth. “From Madonna to Mother Teresa, women are vital to the creativity, innovation, and health of our State. She emphasized that celebration of such days is beneficial only if we provide Respect and Honor to the women.
The Principals and the nominees were awarded and honored by the Chief Guest of the event, SP(D) Digvijay Kapil, Fatehgarh Sahib. He said that “we commemorate not only the women achieving the right to vote, but also earning the full respect, rights and privileges which are available to male citizens of the nation.  Women today stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, uniting together to assure that all citizens are equal; regardless of gender. We have come far, but we must remember we are far from done.” He further encouraged that “We all should educate our girl child because they are the pillars of strength of any prospering Nation.” Over 100 women were awarded on the Event.
The students of GJIMT performed on a Dance theme – Bharat Ki Beti Tere Rang Anek and get the astounding applause of the audience. Event came to an end with The National Anthem and lunch.
