Karnataka batter Prakhar Chaturvedi score unbeated 404 breaks Yuvraj’s 24 year old record

Bengaluru :  Prakhar Chaturvedi, Karnataka’s batter With a stunning knock, surpassed Yuvraj Singh’s 1999 record of 358 runs for Punjab in a game against Bihar. Karnataka’s  Prakhar Chaturvedi  broke the 25-year-old record of India’s star batter Yuvraj Singh with an unbeaten 404 runs off 636 balls in the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy final against Mumbai. BCCI on X posted, “Karnataka’s Prakhar Chaturvedi becomes the first player to score 400 in the final of #CoochBehar Trophy with his splendid 404* knock against Mumbai,”  Chaturvedi’s prolonged and determined performance  played a crucial role in Karnataka piling up a total of 890 for eight in reply to Mumbai’s 380.

Prakhar Chaturvedi missed out on being part of the quad that will be defending India’s under-19 world title in South Africa later this month. But the Karnataka teen has ensured that selectors will be keeping a keen eye on his from here on. Prakhar playing a marathon knock that took 885 minutes, spread over two-and-half days, the right hander compiled a sensational unbeaten 404 to become the highest individual scorer in the final of the Cooch Behar Trophy, the national U-19 tournamament. Cooch Behar Trophy has unearthed many legends. Indian cricket lovers will be hoping Prakhar too will join their ranks.
