Marriott ‘walks for Arne’ to remember its global prez

New Delhi—On a pleasant morning on Sunday,March 20, Marriott group employees and Arne fans dressed smartly in their running gear gathered outside JW Marriott, Aerocity. Wearing identical cobalt blue t-shirts, they painted the porch and later the roads of Aerocity a pleasant blue as they held a walk to pay tribute to Arne Sorenson, Marriott’s Global President and CEO who recently lost his life to pancreatic cancer. All Marriott properties in Delhi NCR participated in the event which turned out to be an emotional tribute to the man who commanded a lot of respect among Marriott staff across continents.

The walk was organized by the team of JW Marriott New Delhi. After a brief address by Jatin Khanna and all the General Managers, the walk started at 7:30am from JW Marriott New Delhi and after a stretch of 2 kilometers covering the Aerocity complex, the walk concluded back at the hotel. The objective was honour Sorenson’s love to remain fit. He never missed his day run no matter how busy his schedule.

With Market Vice President for North India, Bhutan and Nepal – Jatin Khanna and General Managers of all Delhi NCR hotels – Nitesh Gandhi, JW Marriott New Delhi and Cluster General Manager for Rajasthan, other team members also came together to “Walk For Arne”.
