More than 21 quintal fake cheese seized from a factory in Kaithal district

Guhla-Chikka (Kaitha) The Food Safety Department team led by SDM Captain Pramesh Singh raided a cheese manufacturing factory Singla Traders located at Kangthali in Guhla-Chikka of Kaithal district. During the raid the team  confiscated 21 quintals 125 kg of fake cheese on the spot and destroyed it as it was not edible. Samples of milk, ghee and cheese from the factory have been sent for testing. The SDM warned about the dangers of fake cheese which was found unfit for consumption. SDM said that eating fake cheese is very harmful for health leaving a bad effect on our body and one has to be cautious always, if we are buying cheese, milk and milk products from somewhere, if suspected adulterated, then immediately bring it to the notice of the administration.

Food Safety Officer Dr. Pawan Chahal said that food items like milk, ghee, paneer etc. were inspected in the factory named Singla Traders in Kangthali. When the team tasted the paneer, it was found to be unfit for consumption. They seized two quintals and 125 kg of paneer on the spot and destroyed it on the spot. He said the team took four samples from the factory, including one sample of cheese, one of ghee and two samples of milk, which were sent to the laboratory for testing. If the samples are found to be not up to the food safety standards, then necessary action will be taken against the concerned factory.
