In-spite of all efforts preparation of fake passports could not be controlled in Haryana state in past couple of year as a result large number of hard core criminals as well as gangsters most wanted by police in different states managed to flee abroad with the help of such fake passports. Haryana state government has now started investigation of all passports prepared in the state in past five years from 2017 to 2022 under the supervision of Alok Kumar Mittal Chief CID in Haryana state.
The Regional Passport office for the states of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh UT is situated at Chandigarh having other passport offices at Ambala, Karnal, Sonipat and Rohtak in Haryana state. Information reveals that maximum number of fake passports were prepared at Chandigarh and Ambala offices on the basis of fake documents, fake police verifications, and those falsely introduced address of the applicants caused not only danger to national security but also sheltered large number of hard core criminals and gangsters most wanted by police who managed to flee abroad and such antisocial elements are spreading terrorism in the country while sting abroad.
Haryana state police has already constituted an SIT to investigate all passports prepared in Haryana state in past five years and take action against accused involved in preparing fake passports, which have already prepared a list of few suspected persons at Karnal and Fatehabad districts allegedly involved in illegal practices with the help of CM Flying Squad and security wing of Haryana state government. Information reveals, out of 32 passports suspected prepared on the basis of fake documents at Karnal as many as 18 passports were found prepared on the basis of completely false documents as such cases 18 cases have been registered with different police stations in Panchkula district against accused involved in it.
Information also reveals that Haryana police has already detected and registered cases against accused of not less than 250 fake passport holders and those involved in conspiracies while preparing these passports already identified in the state so far. Similarly, large numbers of fake passport holders, most of them having in criminal background have been identified at Gurugram, already left country presently living in abroad. STF is trying for the arrest of those including agents involved in preparing such fake passports in which two police personnel at Karnal and an officer at Delhi has also been arrested who admitted that as many as 21 fake passports were got prepared by them. According to CID Chief Large number of fake passports of hard core criminals most wanted by police in other states and gangsters from Punjab presently residing in abroad were prepared at Fatehabad in Haryana state.
