Piyush Goyal begins Two-Day UK visit to Advance India-UK Free Trade Agreement

New Delhi: Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal commenced a two-day official visit to the United Kingdom on June 18, 2025, with discussions focused on advancing bilateral trade relations and the proposed India-UK Free Trade Agreement.

The visit, scheduled through June 19, represents a continuation of diplomatic efforts to strengthen economic ties between the two nations following previous commitments by both countries’ Prime Ministers to conclude the FTA negotiations.

The ministerial visit occurs amid shifting global trade patterns and aims to accelerate bilateral cooperation while establishing frameworks for sustained economic partnership.

Goyal’s agenda includes high-level meetings with key British officials to review ongoing trade negotiations and develop implementation strategies for future agreements.
