Police laid a trap and caught the accused of honeytrap in Ambala

Ambala: A sensational case of honeytrap has come to light in Ambala. A young woman and her accomplice have been arrested while accepting Rs 50,000.  A 23-year-old female trapped a young man of Ambala in her net. The girl claims to be from Mumbai and lives with her adopted brother Munna in Delhi. The police arrested the girl and her accomplices red-handed while taking cash worth Rs 50,000. According to the police, the girl had befriended a young man from Ambala over the phone. The young man refused to go to Delhi and asked the girl to come to Ambala. The girl reached Ambala and both spent the night in a private hotel. The next morning the girl called Dial 112 and accused the young man of rape. The Dial 112 team brought the girl to Ambala Cantt police station, but she did not file any written complaint and said that she would take any action only after the arrival of her brother.

Station House Officer (SHO) padao police station Ambala Cantt, Dharamvir said that the girl had earlier lodged a similar case in Ambala city, in which she had left with the money. This time, the girl’s step brother Munna along with another one person reached the police station in the afternoon. Outside the police station, during a settlement of the case an amount worth  three lakh rupees was demanded, which was finally settled for amount one and a half lakh rupees was made in which rupees 50 thousand cash and the remaining amount to be paid through a cheque of one lakh. The police got wind of this set-up and laid a trap. As the woman and her accomplices were taking Rs 50,000, the police caught them red-handed accepting cash. SHO Dharamvir said, “We acted immediately and arrested the accused, a case has been registered and all the accused are being produced in court.”

Since the arrested girl did not give any clear answer during the police interrogation. Similarly, the police also interrogated other accused. The SHO said that it was observed this gang was running a network of honey trap in a planned manner and black mail people to extort money from them. He said, the police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and have started further legal action by producing the arrested accused in the court. The police are also investigating whether this gang has carried out similar crimes in other cities earlier. SHO Dharamveer has appealed to the general public to immediately contact the police if they get trapped in any such trap. He said this was a well-planned honey trap in which police caught the accused red-handed while accepting money.
