CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Red Cross Society, which has been playing a leading role in humanitarian work such as blood donation, relief, and disaster management in the state, will now construct its own building. Society Vice Chairman Ankush Miglani has written to President and Governor Professor Asim Kumar Ghosh, requesting a suitable site for the new building.
The Haryana Red Cross Society plays a vital role in public service activities across the state. The Society’s work is constantly expanding. Therefore, in light of this expansion, the Society has sent a request to Governor Professor Asim Kumar Ghosh for the construction of its own Red Cross building.
Vice Chairman Ankush Miglani, requested the Governor to allocate suitable land for the construction of a Red Cross building so that future plans and services can be operated within a centralized structure.
The Haryana Red Cross Society’s state headquarters is currently operating from Sector 16, Chandigarh. However, there is insufficient space for staff to sit. Furthermore, there is also insufficient storage space for relief supplies and other items to be sent to the districts. Considering these difficulties, the Vice Chairman has written a letter to the Governor requesting space for a new building. Governor Professor Asim Kumar Ghosh has also given the Red Cross a positive assurance regarding the new building.
Aapda Mitra Yojana will gain momentum
Ankush Miglani, Vice Chairman of the Haryana Red Cross Society, stated that the Red Cross is preparing “Aapda Mitra” (Disaster Friends) for relief and rescue operations in case of a disaster.
