Rahul Gandhi’s Ladkah trip is an extension of a Bharat Jodo Yatra

New Delhi : Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi’s Ladakh visit is a part of Bharat Jodo Yatra, says congress.  It is a fulfillment of commitment made by him to the delegation which had wanted him to come and hear the people’s perceptions of the border challenges with China and their views on empowernment of local elected bodies. This is Rahul Gandhi’s first visit to Ladakh after Jammu and Kashmir bifurcated into two union territories. Congress keeps on updating Rahul Gandhi’s leh ladakh visit on social media and also calls it an extension of Bharat Jodo yatra.

Congress MP, Rahul Gandhi went to Leh on a two- day visit which later extended to four more days where he visited Pangong lake, Nubra valley and kargil district. He paid tribute to his father Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary on 20 August. After that Gandhi also rode from leh to Pangong lake on his KTM 390 sports bike. Later while sharing his pictures on social media, Rahul said “My father late Rajiv Gandhi used to say this is the most beautiful best place on earth. He also visited the locals, shopkeepers, the markets in the valley. Talking to newspersons in the Union Territory Rahul said he was planning to visit ladakh during the Bharat Jodo Yatra last year, but due to some reasons it got postponed. After Pangong he visited to Nubra and kargil also.

 Rahul Gandhi also posted the pictures of Leh market where thousands of locals can be seen with him.  Bharat Jodo is deeply rooted in every Indians’s Heart and mind. Everybody was seen chanting “Bharat mata ki jai” No power can suppress this unity, Rahul said. “ This is “Mohabbat ka safar which will keep on moving” he added.  Not only the congressmen but the people of ladakh are happy and welcoming their leader with love and affection.

 On his recent trip to the Union Terrirtory, Rahul also interacted with farmers and local peasants,. He was also seen holding a kid at Khardung la.  He reached Khardunga Top in Ladakh on Monday.  Khardunga is said to be the highest motorable road of the world.

According to Senior Leader Jairam Ramesh , the Ladakh visit is a fulfillment of commitment that he made to the delegation  who wanted him to come and hear the problems of the people , living at the borders with china. In a post on twitter, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said “ on 24th Januray  this year , Rahul had met a delegation from Ladakh during Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jhajjar Kotli, Jammu.  Rahul Gandhi has started his first Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir last year from September to January.

Rahul Gandhi along with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has become very active on social media now. They have been posting pictures on Instagram and facebook often. The trip to ladakh is now extended till August 25.
