Record illicit liquor sale, smuggling during lockdown rock Haryana

Thousands of cases alleged nearly 25000 illicit liquor of value worth several crores seized by police and state excise department during raids in Haryana state was stolen, sold and smuggled to other states during lock down period for which state home minister Anil Vij ordered investigation by a special enquiry team (SET) comprising of three senior officers T.C. Gupta IAS, Subhash Yadav IPS and Vijay Singh Additional Commissioner of state excise department to submit report of one of the biggest liquor scam in the state so far by May 31, 2020 and expose the names of all those high profile persons and officials involved in this scam. SET unsatisfied with the working of police and excise departments started investigation and ordered checking of sale and stocks of all wine contractors once again and take action against those involved in this sensational scam stolen case property liquor from sealed godowns under tight police security not only in a godown at Kharkhoda in Sonepat district owned by Bhupinder Singh Dahiya against whom as many as 11 liquor smuggling cases are already under trial in courts and another godown at Samalkha in Panipat district owned by a former Congress  MLA Satvinder Rana presently a senior JJP leader but also in several other godowns in the state at Fatehabad, Jhajjer. Rewari, Narnaul, Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra from where huge case property liquor kept in sealed godowns under police security were found missing during lock down period. During investigation hundreds of liquor cases were also found buried underground by liquor mafias. According to excise department, police was responsible for liquor thefts under their control.

State police department has already arrested  both alleged prime accuse along with their accomplishes some of them still absconding and cases registered against 13 police personnel including three SHOs posted at Kharkhoda police station already suspended by DGP Haryana of them two Jasbir and Arun are at large.  Master mind of liquor theft and smuggling case at Kharkhoda Bhupinder from whose godown thousands cases of case property liquor seized by excise department along with police were found missing after raid at his Chandigarh residence by police from three states surrendered at Kharkhoda police station and during eight days police remand admitted crime. Jashandeep Singh Randhawa SP Sonepat told that Bhupinder Singh used to smuggle liquor during lock down period in the vehicle on the basis of fake documents and fake permission to carry stocks granted by SDM Derrabassi in Punjab. He disclosed that police during raid at his Chandigarh residence had seized Rs 97 lakh currency notes, two unlicensed pistols, three mobile phones and a Range Rover car presently under Kharkhoda police station custody. During interrogation Bhupinder told that he had stolen liquor from his godown, sold and smuggled along with then Jasbir then SHO at Kharkhoda police station.

Inter-state liquor smuggler Bhupinder Singh Dahiya son of Dilbagh Singh a farmer started his professional career in the year 2000-2001 and used to lift passengers in his jeep on Kharkhoda-Sisana-Gohana route about 20 years ago in 2000-2001. Dreaming to become rich compelled Bhupinder to started small scale financing business, followed by had partnership with a liquor contractor and slowly started liquor smuggling and today has huge property including a shop in grain market as commission agents, a restaurant, a school in 10 acres area, huge residential house in a posh sector at Chandigarh and a Range Rover car of value worth Rs 60 lakh. Information reveals that Bhupinder is having high level contacts with bureaucrats as well as political leaders often seen with influential persons sitting at civil secretriate Chandigarh..

Former two times Congress MLA and presently a senior JJP leader Satvinder Rana presently under judicial custody at Panipat jail allegedly arrested stolen 4500 cases liquor from sealed godown at Samalkha  and sold at highervrates during lock down refused allegation saying that he was falsely implicated in the case due to political reasons.  He was arrested along with 11 others involved in illegal business and police is yet making search for the arrest of few others yet absconding . Meanwhile, bale application of all alleged accuse has been rejected by the court. State home minister Anil Vij told that SET has been given special power vide chapter 10 under section 32 CRPC in this case to take stern action against accused involved in these high profile cases likely to unmask several prominent faces.
