Seizure of 252.95 gms of gold at SGRDJI Airport, Amritsar

Amritsar:  Custom department at Shri Guru Ramdas ji International Airport has today seized Gold worth Rs. 14.85 Lakhs which was smuggled from Dubai.

In a statement issued here today, Customs officials stated that based on profiling of passengers a traveller, who arrived from Dubai was intercepted by officers of Amritsar Customs.   A case of smuggling was booked against the passenger on detection of concealment of gold, which was glued between the layers of vest worn by him. He was also carrying a Gold button concealed in the waist pocket of his trousers. Pure gold weighing 252.95gm valued at Rs.14.84 lakhs was recovered and seized.
